How to adhere
The brand "CUOR DI BORGO" and this book 'OPTIMUM' aim at showing and exalting the peculiarities of the territory and the rural traditions of this area of Marche - the Piceno hinterland - in order to make the most of a territory mainly marked by the beauty of its landscape and the quality of its environment and landscape, of its agroindustrial products (starting from wines, oils and typical products), of it tourist facilities, cultural institutions and warm welcoming attitude.
Behind so many marks and so many wine-and-dine happenings outlining typicality to attract tourists and consumers attention, there a true and serious commitment of a few hard working people who are the real model of the local gastronomy.
These small farms represent the "appetizing" hinterland patrimony, which must be saved in a context where the loss of traditions and of cultural diversity seems to lead to the inevitable end of our culture.
Gal Piceno, within the Piceno's Plan of Local Development and the "Leader+" project, after making a thorough marketing plan of the territory, wanted to exploit the unconscious richness founded on great quality and genuineness of our gastronomy, the value of our artistic handicraft, the professionalism of the tourist accommodation: all this was done by highlighting "quality", which is a necessary "extra bit" and added value of the local tourist offer.
This work has started by defining, within all the five sections chosen (wine, olive oil, local products, restaurants, rural accommodation, artistic handicraft), accurate excellence criteria and then applying those criteria to the cartography of enterprises in the whole Gal Piceno territory, in order to identify the best ones for quality of products and services. The results obtained gave the chance to underline - but not in an exhaustive manner - some of these excellences appointing them as "integrated products", able to represent and make visible a context which is not only important under the culinary viewpoint, but also under the socio-cultural, historic, tourist and economical aspects.
Cuor di Borgo aims to be a starting point of a process whose purpose is to point out high quality products and services, thus offering to tourists - and, above all, to lovers of local products and traditional culture - a really effective tool to find new reasons and spurs to visit and taste this territory.
